November 2, 1943. Over the skies of Germany, a 19 year old Private Harold 'Red' McKinney curls into the glass belly of B-17 Flying Fortress. The ball turret, a claustrophobic sphere of steel and glass, hung beneath the bomber like a fragile eye. 
We owe quite a bit to men like this. A debt that can never be fully paid back.
