Dan John talks about three ways to get stronger, one of which is lifting something heavy over your head. CrossFit is a strength AND conditioning program, and today we did just that -The press. No dip, hip drive, or momentum on the bar. An upper body version of the deadlift.

Super strong lifts Cliff, John, and Lynde. You guys are STRONG! Great job Jolie, and Ken. You are both doing really well. Just remember, Form-Consistency-Intensity. In that order.

The press is an excellent exercise for shoulder health. It's functionality also makes it an integral component of any strength program. The cues include grabbing the floor, locking EVERYTHING down, then driving up and under, finishing in a rock solid overhead position.
